Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue: a 32-residue peptide engineered as a structural relative of native human amylin but with a far longer half-life. Research centres on agonism at the amylin receptors (AMY1, AMY2, AMY3) and the downstream influence on food intake, gastric emptying and energy balance. Most of the published interest pairs it with semaglutide in the CagriSema programme, where the amylin and GLP-1 mechanisms have shown complementary activity in late-stage metabolic studies.
