IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arg3) is an 83-residue analogue of recombinant human insulin-like growth factor 1, carrying an N-terminal extension and an arginine-for-glutamic-acid swap at position 3. Those changes cut its binding to the IGF binding proteins, which lengthens its biological half-life well beyond native IGF-1. Research focuses on cell-growth signalling and IGF-1 receptor activation.
